Whether or not you need a checking account to secure a payday loan is the topic of more debate than perhaps any other subject related to online lending. All you have to do is check out some of the informational material you can find posted online to see where a lot of the confusion originates from. Too much of the published material states unequivocally that \”you simply must have\” a checking account in order to qualify.
So then why is it that there is so much conflicting information regarding this one simple topic in the first place? After all this isn\’t rocket science, so one good simple answer should be out there and the matter settled. As it turns out the source of the confusion comes from the fact that \”off-line\” community-based payday lenders do require that you leave them a post dated check in the amount of alone. So no checking account there, and you can\’t get a loan.
But using a post dated check is out of the question when you\’re borrowing online. It would take too much time which would eliminate too many qualified applicants, so online lenders do business differently. What they require, is that you have a bank account that they can work from. An account where they can deposit the money once you\’re approved, and then to withdraw money from when your payment comes due. A lot of them do require that it be a checking account.
At the same time though, over the course of his last handful years, due to global economic downturn an ever increasing number of lenders are loosening their requirements even more. Sites that are dropping their requirement for a checking account and at the same time more online venues that still do still require a checking account are changing the requirement that it be at least 90 days old. All you need is a checking account with these sites.
Even so this still leaves out the people who need cash, need it quick, yet have either a checking account or a savings account. They have a job and everything else to fulfill the requirements but they have no type of account. As it turns out there is enough people who fall into this category to warrant some sites to now approve people who have no account. The way it works is they wire the money after they\’re approved. Then the money is wired back when it\’s time to make the payment.
So with so many sites relaxing their stipulations pertaining to bank accounts, it can seem as though payday type fast cash loans are more available today more people. This is in fact true but you have to keep one thing in mind here. That is that the further you get away from the stipulation that you have a 90 day checking account, the worst of terms on the loan you can expect, with the one where they wire you the money having the worst.
